I went to read a character write up of Serizawa Reira. (To be honest, I own the full manga set of NANA but I didn’t complete reading it.) I thought I knew all about the character but it seems she is a lot more complex.
I was somewhat right about her wretched existence, though I never really understood her seemingly promiscuous ways. Went to google that a little and it turns out the reason is due to emotional instability. (Not going to reveal more, lest I spoil the manga for those who haven’t read it.) I guess I was also somewhat right that she wants to hold on to something but she can’t seem to.
But omg, the complexity of her character and in fact, all the other characters. The way their lives intertwine with each other. I am…mindblown. 🤯
Ai Yazawa really serves up human relationships in the most real and raw form.
Even her other manga, Paradise Kiss also has this complex relationship thing going on.
