Was listening to Olivia Lufkin’s songs, the inspi’ Reira ones in particular. I’ve always said “Shadow of Love” is the saddest song ever, but really, all the inspi’ Reira songs have a tinge of sadness to them even if they sound more rock. I guess they truly fit the character of Serizawa Reira and Olivia brings out the character really well when she sings the songs.
Serizawa Reira is a bit of a 可怜 character. She’s pretty and in a popular band, but somehow she always feels alone and sad. Like a wretched existence. Feels like she wants to reach out and hold on to things, but everything seems like there’s no 真实感。So, she ends up falling apart bit by bit.
Because pretty things don’t last…
If I had to put the feelings into words, that would be it. Not saying about the character herself, but 那些美好的东西。They just don’t last. You can’t hold on to them. They just fade away.
I remember seeing this picture — a silhouette of a girl with the side/tip of her head dissolving into butterflies fluttering off. Yup, that’s the imagery. The butterflies are pretty but they aren’t yours to keep or hold on to. They will fly away.
