I’m not an ENGENE but I know the recent ongoings through threads. A Japanese fan, Mina committed suicide after being cyber bullied. Didn’t help that the idol was dragged into this mess as fans (or anti-fans?) blamed him for what happened coz he went on a live to address certain fan actions. Long story short, people linked what he said to Mina’s actions during a concert (the issue that started the cyber bullying).
Like wow. People’s minds and mouths work in mysterious ways ya. Like that also can link. To me, it looks more like those cowards are trying to shift the blame to someone else now that they have driven someone to her death.
The point is, words are powerful. Words can cut deep and hurt.
Brings to mind the movie 「心が叫びたがってるんだ。」(“The Anthem of the Heart”) where the trauma of her father’s infidelity and parents’ divorce triggered Jun Narase’s selective mutism. The onset of selective mutism is portrayed as Jun found a magical egg who told her that because of her words, her mouth would be zipped shut forever. There is a powerful line that the magical egg said.

Oh, how I wish everyone would keep that in mind. There’s another scene which I will always remember. The one where Jun suddenly blurts out…

It’s true. Once the words are out, you can never take them back. You can say sorry but the words have already cut and made a wound. Even if the wound is healed with your sorry, there will always be a scar.
Please, please, please always be kind with your words. To put it bluntly, if you have nothing good to say, then don’t say it.
