tv is cool

Hey ho! This blog has been rather stagnant. Haven’t got much time. Since after work, have my dinner and then it’s tv time.

Currently into the 9pm serial on Channel 8. Yep, you guessed it. Coz there’s Toro in it. It focuses on swimming and 2 swim teams. Cool…all the swimming makes me feel like going swimming. But nahz…I don’t think I will. Though I would still like to actually learn how to tread-water *is that the right spelling?* and how to do that flip thingy when you swim laps. Haha…I can’t even swim half of a lap. Used to swim when I was young, got 2 or 3 beginners and intermediate certificates but never further. I’m still stuck at intermediate level since I can’t even tread-water. Bleargh.

Anyway, it feels good to be into watching some tv programme. Been a long time since I watched that much tv. Now it’s just this programme everyday, CSI on Tuesday and CSI:Miami on Wednesday.

Talking about CSI. It’s getting more gross with each episode. This week’s episode was good. Maybe they should make everyone watch it so people wouldn’t try taking drugs. Coz this couple took drugs. And when the girl saw the guy talking to this other cheerleader girl, she got jealous. And since she was high on drugs, she didn’t even know what she did. Which was to actually claw the cheerleader girl, rip her chest…and here comes the gross part…eat her. The guy ate her too. When she finally got arrested, she described the feeling as she felt like it was as if someone was doing it. Her body was standing there but she could see herself clawing the other girl. Like this whole out of your body experience. So now you know what drugs do to you. Gross stuff.

Not really in the mood to give a full update. Feeling quite tired. Tomorrow still have to go to school for JCG subcomm meeting.

PS: My computer is dying…there’s no sound now. Please…just let it be the computer going bonkers and not the soundcard that’s spoilt.

analyse and decide

I feel the need to cut my hair. Short, but not too short. Shoulder-length? Slightly shorter than that? *shrugs*

Wednesday was cool. Celebrated Pwen’s and Sof’s birthdays. Went to Le Meridien’s Feathers & Fins. Not too pricey place with good food. Recommended by Nad since she worked there before.

Highlight was the unwrapping of presents part. Held this mini competition to see who could open their present first. Not THAT simple since…

Sof’s present was wrapped like this. Present + wrapping + scotch-tape all round, criss-crossed manner + layers of newspaper wrapping + top layer.

Pwen’s present was wrapped like this. Present + wrapping + hard-to-tear plastic + 2 layers of papier mache + layers of newspaper wrapping + top layer.

If you think scotch-tape is easy to remove, you’re wrong. This comes from experience of buying Japanese magazines from Kino. Since they put scotch-tape, criss-crossed over the plastic to prevent people from tearing out stuff from the magazine. It is very hard to tear through the scotch-tape.

Bits of newspaper wrapping were flying everywhere. I’m not kidding you. While the rest of us were laughing away. Sof jumping up and down, exclaiming that she was having a tough time opening it.

Pwen lost in the end. And then came the forfeit part. Thanks to this little bottle of vinegar on the table. The vinegar was in this spray bottle. Those cosmetic spray-type bottles that can be bought from Watsons or Guardian. Weird to be used to put vinegar in. So each of us 7ners had a go at squirting vinegar into her mouth. I’m sure she had a memorable birthday celebration. *lol*

Friday…was kinda pissed off since somebody took my umbrella. I know it’s just a freakin’ umbrella but it’s the monsoon period so it rains everyday. And it rains quite unpredictably. One minute it’s all sunny and the next it’s raining cats and dogs. And it doesn’t help that I’m working in an area that is some distance from the main office.

That day it rained in the morning so I put my umbrella just outside the office to dry. Everyone else in the office does that since there’s no space in the office. There was also some training sessions conducted on that day. So there were other people using the other rooms. And they too put their umbrellas outside.

The next moment I stepped out to go to the toilet, my umbrella was missing. I thought someone borrowed it and may have left it outside the other rooms. Turned and looked at the far corners. No sign of my umbrella. Never mind. Maybe that person who borrowed it might put it back at the end of the day.

End of the day. Still no sign of my umbrella. Blardee pissed off. I know my umbrella is silver…quite common. But it’s extra light and is a bit worn. The person who took it must be obviously blind. Can’t even recognise your own belongings?!

Mum bought me another. I told her to buy something unique since I didn’t want to risk my umbrella being mistaken for somebody else’s again. Well, she did buy something unique…too unique. A light green one…almost like lime green. -_-|||

Woohoo! Chrissy-poo finally got voted out from Singapore Idol.

Who do you think will win Singapore Idol and represent Singapore in World Idol? Or rather, who would you want to win and represent Singapore in World Idol? Yea, I know Sylvester is cute and all, has the most supporters, picks the right songs to sing, has an original style but one thing…he needs to improve on his pronunciation by leaps and bounds if he wants to win. Besides he isn’t a very versatile singer. Unlike Olinda who can almost tackle all genres with much ease. She has a strong singing voice too. Well, I would have wanted Jessea to win but since she’s voted out already *damn all those people who are tone-deaf and wasted their votes on Chrissy-poo and Jerry*. So I guess among the contestants who are not yet voted out, Olinda is the one and only good singer. I would want her to represent us in World Idol.

Daphne has a too sweet-until-I-can-die-from-the-overdose-of-sugar voice. Something I can’t really stand. Oh and she’s rich. Not that I have anything against the fact that she’s wealthy. But Sis and I were both wondering if in any case she won, would it be coz of unfair voting? Her grandfather *note: owner of Goodwood Park hotel* could have asked all his workers to vote for her. And then again, she isn’t much of a versatile singer either. Same case for Leandra and Taufik…the versatile singer part.

Taufik…his plus point would be he’s a good performer. What with all his cool moves and all. But it’s really no use to be a good performer but not too good singer right?

Woke up early yesterday. Was helping out for JAS’s openhouse. Most of us were helping out with the foodstalls. I assisted one chef with the cha-han (fried rice) and spaghetti stall. Not many customers though. I think the okonomiyaki (Japanese pizza), yaki soba (fried soba noodles) and ramen stalls had the most customers.

And one thing sucked about helping out with the stalls. You don’t get to taste the food. I was totally craving for the taste of the ramen. Not that I haven’t tasted the ramen before since I have been to the openhouse last year. But I just love ramen. Not Ajisen’s though. Coz Ajisen uses stick ramen…not fresh ramen.

We got meal coupons as volunteers. Could exchange for a bento and drink. Bento included tori karaage (fried chicken), salmon, potato salad and fruits. Was too full to eat ramen by the time I finished the bento. However, I bought yaki soba and okonomiyaki for Sis.

Sidenote…I think I really should learn how to cook so I can make my own bento for myself and future guy. Possibly my best and close friends too. I think it’s sheer bliss to make bentos for the people you love.

fanlistings galore

Haha…have been busy managing and joining fanlistings that I haven’t sat down to blog.

Friday…met up with the girls after work. Yep…and they told me all the funny stuff I missed. Apparently, there were these girls walking around Orchard, promoting the new fragrance by Tommy Hilfiger. Per decided to inform each promoter that Tommy Hilfiger is racist. Imagine someone coming up to you…”Try our new fragrance.” And you just look at the card she’s holding, realise it’s a Tommy Hilfiger fragrance and just point to it saying “He’s racist.” and then just walk off. Well, just the picture I had in mind when they told me what happened.

And Nad couldn’t resist taking neoprints again. Hmmm…but we haven’t taken neoprints in a long time. Thus…

Nahz…the usuals… Then comes the unusuals…haha…

The first pic, there’s an arrow pointing to me. Oopz…coz I wasn’t looking at the camera. :X

Then comes the ultimate funny.

We didn’t realise the funny parts until we carefully scrutinised them over dinner. That was when the question of “whose hand?” was brought up along with loads of laughter.

There’s this other issue that I’m quite puzzled over. Now ‘fess up. Which of you guys *friends of course* has membership at California Fitness Centre? That’s not all…and entered my name in some guest list? Coz this fella from the fitness centre called me to say I won 2 weeks free membership there. I was like “what? how did I win it?” coz I’m not the kind who would want membership in a fitness centre. Gawd…I haven’t even exercised since Secondary school. He rattled on about one of my friends entering my name in some guest list. And that they picked “lucky me” coz they wanna get more teenagers to walk in. I turned down the offer. DUH. Do I look like the kind who would go workout in the gym? Haha…probably at the most I might push myself to exercise like the way Mr Quah used to make us do those morning runs and stuff. Hmmm…but I’m thinking that one or 2 people I know might like to have the membership though.

Saturday…ahhhh…finally a Saturday where I don’t need to wake up early coz of meetings or other activities. Rare.

Sunday…watched “Yesterday Once More” with Sis and Desmond. Sis’s treat. It’s a mandarin film starring Andy Lau and Sammi Cheng. We wanted to watch “2046” but there wasn’t a good time slot.

Today, well, I’m a happy person. Coz I managed to pick quite a bit of saga seeds. The tree is within the office compound, near the toilet. Usually you can pick quite a few whenever it rains. These few days has been raining so there’s quite a number of fallen pods.

Keera’s a naughty boy. He bit Nad. Just gotta say, the cat’s got some attitude. He’s got a cute face that makes you wanna hug him but I don’t think he’ll let you. Probably will turn you to shreds.

investments

Finally got my mp3 player. Little square thing.

Got it on Monday, direct from Creative’s office in Jurong. Well, don’t mind travelling so far if I can get the player at $30 less.

But like heaven was playing a cruel joke on me, the player was faulty so had to go back today to get it replaced. *mumbles*

Then there’s this…

Cost me a whopping 30+ bucks but yea…a must have. I’m dying to get my hands on volume 1. I’ve got volume 2. And this is…DUH…volume 3.

Back to work tomorrow. The 2 days at home was heavenly. But all good things must come to an end. *sigh* Back to work to earn money.

season 4

New layout. It’s Buffy in Season 4. The headings were said by the first slayer in the last episode of Season 4. I think I love Season 4 and 5’s last episodes the best. Season 6 ended quite emotionally with Willow crying in Xander’s arms. Season 7…so bleargh.

This layout is up first while waiting for Nad to finish the layout she’s making for me. 🙂

Since the previous whiny entry, Mum helped me ask HR whether I could be transferred to another department. Unfortunately there are no vacancies in other departments. So I guess I’ll just stop complaining and continue working. *consoles myself* At least there’s money…

The only thing Mum and the lady in HR could think of is that I take leave when I’m having my monthly bleeding session. Just 1-2 days leave. Which is like now…coz it is Ribena Falls time now. Ok…better stop it before I disgust everyone.

Yesterday, went to school for JCG meeting. After which, Sis and I had lunch and walked around the mall. The mall was exceptionally crowded yesterday. Anyway, we bought tees from Bossini and a hamster wheel for the hamster in grandma’s house. No official name for that hammy yet. Although my aunt calls him “Stripey” and grandma calls him “Rascal”.

Sis, Desmond and I watched “White Chicks” yesterday. Hilarious movie.

Oh…and JCG might be screening “Casshern” for the inter-club screening in November. YAY!!! I wanna watch that movie. I wonder whether it will make it to the big screen in Singapore anyway. Someone in JCG *possibly Peifen* bought the DVD from YesAsia.

transfer please

It’s only my first day at NParks and I’m ready to ask for a transfer. I’m stuck in this ultra ulu area called the Potting Yard. Which is quite far from the visitor’s centre. You have to walk through this path through the forest…it’s only for about 1-2 minutes before you reach the area.

The toilet is not in the same building/shed. You gotta walk to over to it and there’s no shelter on the way so if it rains, you gotta have an umbrella to shelter you to the toilet. Imagine the shock I had. Only one cubicle. Squatting toilet. Well, it is clean except it’s wet all over. But I can’t do with squatting toilets. *wails* Especially when it comes to big business. It is also a huge inconvenience when the time for bleeding begins again.

Toilet issues aside, I spent much of the day in my cubicle…pah bung. Literally… I got a little work to do. Nothing much, spent the rest of the time reading comics. Mind you, I was hoping for a better computer but no…I got a pentium II running on Windows 95 with no internet connection. Anyway, where there are plants, there are mosquitoes. My timely arrival probably was like throwing a banquet for them.

Discussed it with Mum. She’ll inform HR to transfer me to somewhere else. Hopefully within HQ else PRC is ok too. Although PRC is also another mosquito infested area but there’s Mr Koh there.

Thought about giving up the NCS job again. But if I had taken up that job, it would probably be programming and database stuff. No-no stuff for me. And giving up on working completely is not an option either. I’m getting my mp3 player and webspace which leaves me with very little cash so I need the month’s earnings.

free at last

Free at last. Handed in the SIP report yesterday. As usual, the last minute queen woke up early to work on it till around noon before she went to meet Xiu Wei. Got the report binded, bought lunch and rushed to school.

After handing in, ate the lunch we bought and went for the debrief which lasted only for half an hour. It was stated 3-5pm. Haha…guess the lecturers had nothing much to talk about after all.

Sat around at the concourse, talking. Xiu Wei was waiting for Cas coz they were going to jog and to the gym. Me…well, just waiting for Sis to knock off from work. After Cas came, I went to the travel agency at business school. Waited for Sis. Then we had dinner together.

Dinner at Yoshinoya. One thing I hate is when there’s a customer, you should give your full attention to the customer. Not talk to your friends or sms under the counter. It’s very rude.

Oh well…going down to Taka now. Going to the work agency to settle the stuff coz tomorrow I’m starting work at NParks.

give the man a tiger

I should be starting on that freakin’ 2000 word report but what am I doing again? Blogging, checking emails…everything except the report. Spent some time searching for the welcome package that NCS gave which contains information about the company. Yea…you know how messy my room is. It’s like going through the mountains.

Yesterday, had a good time at the Tiger Beer Euphoria ’04 party at Padang. Of course I didn’t drink. DUH. I don’t drink. Just enjoying the performances.

Shinhwa was cool. I really can’t tell who’s who coz they all look alike. Except for the lead vocalist…Hye Sung. He has a distinct face that just stands out from the rest.

Then there was All 4 One and then Palmy, this half Thai girl. She’s so pretty. But she’s this weird girl. Desmond said her style and mannerism resembled Alanis Morrisette. The girl’s cool manz. She just danced around the stage like she was having a good time. Tried to work the crowd up but shouting out loud. And she’s the first female artiste that I know who sprays water at the crowd. Normally it’s the guys. She sang the Thai version of Xiao Xiao’s “Ai Yao Tan Dang Dang”.

Then there was Machi. I think they got the most supporters. Lena Park. Petite girl with a huge voice. Those Singapore Idol contestants should possess those qualities. And of course there was Shin. That was why Sis got tickets in the first place. *rolls eyes*

Lastly, Michael Learns To Rock. Belting out all those old tunes…those tunes I listened to in Primary school. Coz back then, Sis listened to them. The whole party lasted till around 1am. After which, we went to search for food. 24 hour foodcourt.

I think I eat too much these days. Snacking. Yea…wait till I become horizontally challenged.

Alrighty, I should get working on the report. *sigh*

blah ah

Listening to Hilary Duff’s new self-titled album. A little different from the first album. Not so much bubblegum pop? But it’s always like that. Somehow artistes mature by their 2nd album.

I got Hikki’s new album “Exodus” as well.

Last day of SIP today. Some of my colleagues bought me lunch. *sobz* So touched. I mean considering I’m just a SIP student, I don’t even expect such treatment.

I thought I would be full of complains by the time I reached the end. Ok…alright, I still have to complain about the lousy computer I got. Really…they should consider trashing it.

No…I didn’t get all teary-eyed. But somehow I had this feeling that I was leaving something behind. The people…my little cubicle. I admit I don’t really warm up to people I don’t know straightaway. So I tend to be a little more quiet…some sort like a little wary??? Most of the time it’s people who talk to me and seem friendly then I start to open up a little more. Maybe it was a little too late. Didn’t get to know everyone a little more.

In the beginning, I was sure that I was going to die coz I’m going to some super duper IT place where there’s database and programming…stuff that I ain’t good at.

And as time went by, I got to do other stuff. No programming stuff. But I just felt that I wasn’t confident enough. Flipped through the papers every morning, seeing those ads for universities. Then it dawned to me that I didn’t know what I wanted. I’m not even sure this is the path I want to continue. Like I said before, I’m not fabulous. Just average. I’m interested in web design but I don’t have flair. And Cas once pointed out that you can pick these things up yourself. Yea…kinda true.

I don’t even know what I’m absolutely good at. Everything is just average this average that. Haha…maybe I’m good at slacking. Slackers.com…my future company. Ah…what rot.

So I’m 19 and aimless. Good combination huh. Ok…going along the line of crapz now.

Singapore Idol is full of crapz nowadays. Ever since Jessea got voted out. I don’t even know why that Chris-sy-pooh-topher and Jerry Ong still remain.

Wahahahahaha…one of my now-ex-colleagues, Vince said he’s going to vote for Jerry Ong. So if Jerry wins, he can go malu himself in World Idol. Not a bad idea… But thinking again, that would mean malu-ing Singapore as well right? Uh oh…

Wow…and that means it gives Taiwan the chance to insult us further? So what if that minister of theirs apologised. It looked like a half-hearted one. If you ain’t sincere then just forget about it.

And news just gets more depressing each day. People killing each other. Really, where is the love?

This has gone awfully long again. And I’m just rambling non-stop all over the place. Bouncing from one topic to another.

parked the car

Kinda free now since my other colleagues have gone for the meeting regarding the task which we’ve been rushing since last Friday. So glad there’s no more overtime for me. For the past few days have been staying back till 9+pm. And end up having dinner at around 10pm.

Yesterday, met up with Nad for extremely late dinner at PS’s Long John’s. She had to wait quite some time for me coz I was still stuck in the office trying to get things done.

Hmmm…PS’s Long John’s closes quite late. I was afraid that they’ll close around 9.30pm and I was arriving later than that.

My supervisor did ask me whether I could stay on after SIP ends *which is this Friday*. Of course that means I get more than $500 a month. But I turned down the offer since Mum already got me a job at NParks. I didn’t ask my supervisor how much he was willing to pay. Even if the pay’s higher, I don’t think I want to take up the job. That is after quite a bit of consideration so don’t come telling me I missed a golden opportunity.

Oh…and tomorrow I don’t need to go to work. Supervisor giving me time off since I came back on Saturday to work. Yay! I have some stuff I want to do for them before I leave NCS.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSS! I finally managed to park the damn car after 5 minutes 44 seconds and numerous knocks on the other cars. This is also my successful attempt after many failed tries. I think I’m not fated to drive. No…I didn’t drive a real car. Just this flash thingy my ex-colleague sent me. And I can see some of you guys gloating over the fact that you guys managed to park the car in a shorter time on the first attempt. Blah ah…
