pink is my favourite colour

Oh deary me…I forgot to blog about yesterday. Until I read Jo’s entry…

Met up with 7ners yesterday…not all, just Per, PK and Jo. Actually Per and I met up a little earlier as she had stuff to buy. Talked to Hiromi for quite some time in Mise. Per was a little frustrated over not being able to buy the Kanjani8 poster and tour pamphlet. Yea…if only I could get my hands on the NewS tour pamphlets…

We also had a little Uchi (and perhaps Yasu) birthday cake in Coffee Bean. Ok, we shared a mud pie which was a little too dry. Bleargh. The texture was like gingerbread?

Then the time came to meet PK and Jo. We had dinner at Cine at this little restaurant called Galilee. Ermz…I’ve been there before. Price wise, it’s quite ok. But the food quality is just so-so and at times CMI (can’t make it). I had beef ball spaghetti. And the beef balls were…dry. How come everything I ate was dry?!

After dinner, passing of presents. Per and I got the 7ners bags and biscuits from Japan. But our plan was to do it lucky draw style. Each bag was of a different pattern. There was one particular bag that we knew PK would want very much. Simply coz it was pink and she LOVES pink. You should have seen the expression on her face when she picked her present (which wasn’t the pink one) and then we told her about the pink bag. Haha…and we wouldn’t let her have a peek at it.

Met Sof at the hotel next door coz she was there for Up’s DND (Dinner and Dance). HAHAHA…she got the bag PK wanted!

Hmmm…actually the pink bag’s really nice and sweet. I believe Per’s right to say that most people would want it. I would have wanted it too but I already have one and the pink colour doesn’t match the colour of my yukata. Well, both are pink but the bag’s a light pink and my yukata is darker pink.

in an instant

Feeling a little hungry? The kind people from Myojo have come up with a wonderful idea…

No no no…it’s not the usual prawn/seafood flavoured noodles. It’s supposed to taste like the actual prawn noodles that you can get at the hawker centre.

I was a little puzzled when Sis said she wanted to get that? I mean, what’s so different from the regular blue-coloured-sides packet? Aha! So I cooked a packet of it this afternoon to find out for myself. Cut open the packet. Pour out contents. Now, is this supposed to be noodles in soup or the dry kind coz there’s a packet of black sauce. Don’t be fooled. It’s supposed to be the soup kind.

Ok…taste…hmmm…the noodles are a little thicker and more bounce-y/spring-y. Good. Chilli oil, a bit too much, too overwhelming. Or maybe coz I don’t take spicy stuff so it’s a little too much for me. Overall taste…quite ok.

So what next? Fishball noodles in instant noodles form?

Pwen, do you miss Singapore now? Hehehe…

Per can’t wait for me to blog about Maru on Gimon coz he’s so damn funny and so she can explain her MSN nick to Pwen. Haha…soon…soon…

内くんお誕生日おめでとう!!!

To you, this year’s birthday must be a difficult one as you face everyday, constantly being reminded of your past mistake. However, one must continue through life’s journey. With this, I hope you will let go of the past unhappiness and start anew. Remember that you still have your family, friends and fans’ support. We are all waiting for you to come back!

serving a star

Ok, I know it’s no big deal but I served Olinda today. Yea yea…if it were Massu or something, maybe I might just faint. Haha…and sales will increase by 50% coz there’ll be like a million fangirls following. Hey, but she was nice.

I admit I’m still quite blur about certain things. Like if you change this, do you still give set discount? And what about this? What about that? So the first thing she asked me was that we had something with curry. Croquette burger didn’t occur to me coz my brain was trying to think “Curry? What curry? Japanese curry?” I’m so sorry manz…everything is so Japanese to me. Mr D keeps joking that I should go marry a Japanese guy.

And then she spots croquette burger on the menu! She goes “Ah, there! This one!”. Me? Just feeling a tad embarassed that I should know the menu better. Finally my brain connects and I was thinking “Oh ya, croquette has original and curry flavour.” -_-||| Slow lahz…

i love Osaka

I meant to post this some time ago but was dealing with some problems with my site and then work caught up…yada yada yada. So pardon me if you find this a little outdated.

So, I got to watch Kanjani8’s new PV *it stands for promotional video*…Sukiyanen, Osaka! Lots of fun stuff to expect from such a fun group. Who would have thought of adding such humour to their video…

The GREAT balancing act

Notice that Ryo is not balancing anyone? Oh, but HE IS! He’s supposed to be balancing Uchi who isn’t in the PV. Yes, we all know that Uchi is on suspension. But what do you know, Kanjani8 is not Kanjani8 without Uchi. So let’s pretend that he’s there! What a genius…

The revolutionary K8 fan

Now really…who would have thought of that?

Seen anything weird lately?

Take a closer look…don’t blink now…

Oh my…that was absolutely hilarious. When Yoko mentioned “Tanaka-san”, Hina and Ohkura just gave these faces.

So WHO IS Tanaka-san?

This is Tanaka-san

Seriously, this PV cannot be compared to Naniwa Iroha Bushi or Osaka Rainy Blues. I just felt that this PV was rushed out. All it had were scenes from their concert, scenes from their CM (commercial) for Sukiyanen instant noodles and added funny scenes as shown above. But nevertheless, the song is a fun one. 7 guys expressing their love for their hometown…well, almost since Maru’s from Kyoto and Yasu’s from Hyogo.

It was also in my most utter boredom that I made these 2 avatars. Taken from a skit from a Ya Ya Yah episode. Doesn’t Massu look cute? HAHAHA… Massu is supposed to be Shoon’s wife in the skit.

smaller place

Yesterday was our off-day.

Today worked at the Parkway outlet. Smaller place. A little not used to it since in Bugis, if you’re cashier, you’re solely cashier. Here in Parkway, have to do some other things yourself.

Tomorrow, staff meeting. Thursday, off-day. Friday, work. Saturday, off-day again. Sunday and Monday at TM. How come so many off-days? Coz Parkway outlet need not have too many staff there so to even out, we are given more time off till the TM outlet is open.

A little tired.

maybe i’m just a little too paranoid

Maybe I’m just a little too paranoid or maybe I’m too much of a perfectionist. Either way, it increases the stress I put upon myself.

I was allowed to do cashier-ing today for 2 hours. Of which I made a few mistakes. Luckily the customers were nice and quite forgiving. Most of the time, the aunties and managers tell us to be careful of the soup and hot drinks, careful not to spill and hurt ourselves. But I’m not afraid of burning myself, I’m afraid of spilling and wasting the drink and then probably get a scolding for that. Actually I just burnt my hand today when I accidentally hit the hot coffee cup and a bit of the coffee spilled out on my hand. So that’s no big deal.

I spilled a bit of coke too. Yew Seng, one of the managers (the nicer one) just told me nicely to be careful. I don’t think he minded that I spilled the coke. But inwardly I was scolding myself for making that stupid mistake.

In my previous jobs, I learnt that not everyone can be trusted. People may be nice to you but behind your back, they may be saying all the bad stuff about you. That’s what I think of a certain 2 managers. I know it isn’t nice to go around suspecting people and I wish I didn’t have to feel this way. One seems to have a problem with my hair. First time he says I should tie lower so my hair doesn’t swish to the front when I turn. Fine. Today he says that I have to change my scrunchie to either a dark blue or black one. I was using a lighter blue one by the way. The next moment I glanced to the other side and I saw one of the crew used a pink band to tie her hair. It made me feel like taking a pair of scissors and just snip of my long hair right in front of him. Yes, I told Sis to stop playing with my hair before and warned her if she kept doing that, I’ll snip off my hair so she can’t play with it anymore. Don’t think I’m the kind who will cry if I have to cut off my long hair.

The other one just seems to suspect everything Sis and I do. And he doesn’t seem nice. Fullstop.

So the manager (who has a problem with my hair) was kinda angry today. Not sure over what. Maybe a customer scolded him about something. Not sure. But immediately I started to get scared whether it was my fault. Maybe I got a customer’s order wrong and he scolded the manager. Maybe I did something wrong. Maybe my fault…maybe my fault…maybe my fault…

I’m hoping I can bare with all this a little longer…already I’m starting to dread it and it ain’t good. I still think I prefer to do office/admin jobs.

back to work

So I started work yesterday. Training to be exact. Nothing much. Just preparing drinks. Hate the milk shake mixer coz if you don’t get the hang of it, you tend to splash a little.

Today, still doing drinks but learnt how to do cashier-ing at the end of the day. A bit harder. I hope customers will be more patient coz I can’t find the buttons on the cash register. I’m sure as time goes by it’ll be better but for now, still quite nervous.

Hmmm…I kinda prefer office/admin jobs. You don’t need to face customers…even if you have to, it’s once in a while and not every moment. Luckily it’s just a part-time job, so 4 hours a day. I’m trying to psycho myself that at least there’s Sis with me and that I’ll be doing till the end of the year. So just tahan a bit for now… Besides, the other crew and manager are quite friendly so it’s not too bad.

i could just cry

You don’t know how relieved I am to see my blog is back. For the past 2 days, I have gone from being puzzled to shocked to mega-shocked to angry to anxious to relieved. Was also prepared for the worst – 2 weeks worth of blog entries gone.

It all started when I went to check on a subdomain of mine on Monday. No page displayed. I thought perhaps Netrillium was under maintenance or something. Wasn’t too bothered by that. Tuesday, went to my blog. WordPress said they couldn’t find my database. Logged into CPanel to check. Biggest shock of my life. ALL MY CREATED DATABASES WERE GONE!!! Bikkurishita~~ I was cursing and swearing all the way coz that might mean that 2 months worth of blog entries might be gone.

I recalled Nad faced the same problem a few days ago and I remembered she had to go through Google’s and Yahoo’s cache to retrieve some of her stuff. Did the same thing. Managed to retrieve some stuff…which meant I lost 2 weeks worth of entries. Quite disappointed coz afterall, they are my memories. Called up Nad, complaining to her and telling her what I feared – that somebody has hacked into my account. Coz there were unknown subdomains and FTP accounts created. She calmed me down and asked me to contact the Netrillium staff for help.

The Netrillium staff found out the problem…I shall quote a little of the contents of the reply here…

I have been investigating this issue. It seems that CPanel has crossed your account with another customer’s. The ownership of files had changed which is why you were seeing some of his data and he was seeing parts of yours.

The bad thing is that both of you deleted some of each other’s things that you saw in CPanel/FTP. We’ll need to try to get that from backups.

I guess he deleted my databases and I deleted his subdomains. Haha… Anyway, they have successfully retrieved my databases from backups. So my blog’s back. Thank God! Nothing lost… Really learnt my lesson. Shall be faithful in manually backing-up all my entries from now on.

mediacorp staff are rude

Saturday, the long awaited day. Ok, I’m exaggerating. Got up early, met Joyce and Desmond at Novena, had lunch then…off to Mediacorp. Read the previous entry for more details. Met Per there.

Sis wanted to be earlier than the group from Jpopmusic forums. We reached there around 3pm. Hmmm…not many people. Thank God! There was a post with the poster of the event on the side and there were already a few people queuing up behind it so we thought might as well just join the queue. Read magazines and talked to pass the time.

While waiting, my eyes were tortured from seeing some girl’s (from the forum) buttcrack. And she didn’t even realise for a long long time till somebody went to tell her. That kind soul. Lesson for all girls…don’t try to be hiao (vain) and wear low cut jeans if you’re going to expose yourself in the end.

At about half an hour to the time to be let in, there were groups of people standing by the side. I knew what they meant to do later…to cut into the queue. I cautioned Sis about it. I was right…about 15 minutes before the time, the group of people standing by the side grew. Alarmed, the other people in the queue (including us), stood up. I don’t know what happened next but the whole group of forum girls went in front as well. Then came the shout for an orderly queue by the Mediacorp staff. Note: We were damn irritated by then coz these people were just trying to cut into the queue. Blardee hell.

So now, the staff decided to do something. *sarcastic* Finally! This Mediacorp staff, a lady, ordered everyone to form a queue, two by two. Of course, those of us who were already in the original queue had no problem about it. But it was those who were not in it that tried their best to squeeze/cut in. Note: I was damn irritated and spewing vulgarities by then.

There were these 2 guys who didn’t manage to squeeze in in front of us. And coz they were sticking out, the Mediacorp lady ordered them to get into the queue. Sis was so irritated that she just told the lady that these people are late and they weren’t in the queue and now they are going to cut in front of us. There was no way she’s going to let them. I was thinking to myself that this Mediacorp lady had the authority to ask latecomers to go to the back of the queue. OH NOOOOOO…I was wrong. This stupid lady just answered back fiercely saying that if we’re not going to cooperate, nobody will be let in. FUCK MANZ!!! I just stared at her in disbelief. WTH WTH WTH!!! I wanted to slap her silly there and then. Here we are, the early birds, in the queue for more than 2 hours just to ensure that we can get a good seat and there you go allowing stupid latecomers to cut in front of us. And you have the cheek to say we aren’t cooperating. WTF!

In the end, some stupid aunties at the back of us allowed them in. Why stupid aunties? Coz they were also the people who cut in and they still had the cheek to exclaim innocently that people are early so they can get a good seat. Not only that, those forum people who cut in front of us also just looked at us innocently like they didn’t do anything wrong. I had the urge to gorge their eyes out. I have a super bad impression of them now. To think that they are so-called fans, shouldn’t they be setting a good example?

We intend to write a letter of complaint. The management is so lousy. And it’s not like they haven’t got experience in handling such events. They have held even worse events with way more people than this. They seriously haven’t done ANYTHING to improve the situation. They should learn from Heeren/HMV. After one to two autograph sessions that saw tons of fans, they decided to give out number tags in the following autograph sessions. This ensured that the queue was an orderly one and that the autograph session was fast yet successful. Everyone went home happy getting their star’s signature. Only thing is that we were to furious with that Mediacorp lady to note down her name. So damn blardee rude.

Apart from that unhappy experience, we enjoyed the show. Sharon Au cracked lots of lame jokes…she just said a lot of stuff. Oh and her Japanese isn’t that wonderful. There were the taiko performances, dance performances, a video presentation and finally the V-u-den performance. They performed a total of 6 songs. Rika looks a little darker than in photos. Yui has lost weight. They tried to speak a little English but Rika forgot what she had to say. Haha…

After their performance came the lucky draw. There was this group of Japanese guys (fans) who were just so crazy. They wrote their ticket number really big on a piece of paper and started waving it. When their number wasn’t announced, they just sighed loudly. Per and I were laughing non-stop. This lucky girl won a pair of return tickets to Japan! Haha…

Photography wasn’t allowed during the event. I didn’t dare secretly take photos coz there were staff around. I only took after the event…

Per and I

Joyce pointing to her nose???

Later, someone (one of the forum people who was at the event) posted in the forum that she and another 2 girls managed to sneak and wait in the carpark for V-u-den to leave. They got in a cab to chase the van. It was reported that the van drove round and round, I think trying to shake them off but they just continued following. That was when the manager got off the van and scolded them. She said he scolded them that stalking in Japan is illegal and that nobody would want to come to Singapore if they did that.

I guess they haven’t experienced it before. In Japan, people don’t really do these kinda things. Besides, it’s too expensive to get into a cab just to chase stars.

Hmmmm…I got a call from the Mos Burger manager to go down to the Parkway outlet for orientation on Monday…which is…ermz…later.
